Bets now make a new Anthropic Fable model, 5.2 or newer, this month all but certain

Traders now see a public release of Anthropic's next Fable model, version 5.2 or higher, before December as all but certain. Confidence has climbed through Saturday from a level that was already likely. The reason for the climb is not clear.

The rise has come in bursts. Expectations were steady and likely on Wednesday, slipped a little that day, and dipped again on Thursday. They jumped late Thursday and held there into the night. A second step up came early Saturday, and bets kept building through the late morning and midday.

The shorter deadlines have moved more. A release by Nov. 10 was seen as unlikely when this story began and is now a toss-up. A release by Nov. 12 is likely, and one by Nov. 19 is also likely after starting as a toss-up. A release by Nov. 9 is still seen as unlikely. Traders' central expectation has moved earlier, from mid-November to early November, with a range from before Nov. 9 to late November.

No credible development explains the latest move or the earlier swings, according to the research available. The independent release tracker ArtificialWatch reports that Fable 5.2 has not been released and has no confirmed release date.

Anthropic released Claude Fable 5.1 on Sept. 1. Its documentation lists the model as available to all Claude API customers and through cloud platforms, and the company's Fable product page still lists version 5.1. That release does not count, because the question requires a model named Fable and designated 5.2 or higher.

To count, the model must be open to the general public. An open beta or an open rolling waitlist would qualify. Private access, a closed beta, a differently named model such as Mythos, or a version label on a website with no accessible model behind it would not. Anthropic's own announcements are the main source for settling the question, verified by credible reporting.

No launch date has been confirmed. Until Anthropic announces a release or its site shows a new Fable model open to the public, expectations rest on traders' judgment alone.
